Suburban Sports Group Rinks

    Return Together

(UPDATE 11/16/20): As we are sure you are aware by now, governor Gretchen Whitmer announced yesterday the official rollout of a new public health order in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The new policy, imposed by the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services (MDHHS), includes a three-week pause in specified group activities in an attempt to slow the rapidly-rising COVID-19 infection rate. This three-week pause will take place beginning Wednesday, Nov. 18, with activities resuming on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020.

    What this means:

    • All ice arena activities scheduled for today and tomorrow – Monday, Nov. 16 and Tuesday, Nov. 17 - will run as scheduled.
    • Per the order, beginning on Wednesday, Nov. 18, all ice arenas will be required to close and will be able to re-open on Wednesday, Dec. 9.  During that time, all programming activities (youth hockey, adult hockey, Freestyle figure skating, Learn to Skate activities, etc.) in the facilities will be paused.
    • In addition, the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association has also issued a three-week pause - all MAHA-sanctioned activity is postponed.  No practices, games, team travel, etc. are permitted or sanctioned by MAHA during the three-week period.

More specific information related to your rink program/activity will be provided in the next week as more information becomes available and plans are updated. Please check our website for regular updates as matters continue to unfold.

We appreciate your understanding and thank you for your patience as we navigate through this situation.

      The Suburban Team

The safety of our employees and guests is our No. 1 priority, so we ask that you check out the following guidelines and regulations before arriving at the rink. We will be adhering to all government policies during our reopening. Please note the following action items, and check out the rest of the information and videos we have for you below.

    • Please arrive no more than 20 minutes before your scheduled ice session fully dressed for your on-ice activity. Social-distancing staging areas will be available only for participants to put their skates and helmets on.
    • Prior to entering the facility, ALL patrons must check-in via the QR code posted at the front of the facility. Participants will also have their temperature checked at the entrance; anyone repeatedly showing a temperature of 100.4 or above will be asked to exit the facility.
    • As a courtesy to others and per the governor's Executive Order, we ask everyone to wear facial masks at all times. The only exception is: Figure skaters will not need to wear them on the ice if they maintain a 6-foot social distance from others, as per the governor's latest EO 2020-180.
    • We will be working with limited capacity numbers (25%) so only two (2) guests can accompany a participant at this time.
    • Your bags will be left in the open staging area, so please do not bring any valuables into the facility.
    • All water fountains are currently unavailable - please bring your own water bottle.
    • Showers will be unavailable to all participants, as well.
    • At the conclusion of your ice time, you will have approximately 5-10 minutes to remove your skates and exit the building, as we need time to properly clean between each group.
    • Guests are asked to stay home if they are feeling ill.
    • There will be no lost-and-found - all items left behind will be discarded.

These policies will continuously be reviewed and updated as state mandates allow.

Please view the materials below for more information and to watch a walkthrough video of how to enter the building and access the ice safely.
